2016 THANKSGIVING INVITATIONAL
Our team will travel to Bountiful for the Thanksgiving Invitational again this year. This is a 2-day meet at the South Davis Recreation Center (550 North 200 West, Bountiful, Utah). The team bus will leave from Sky View to transport the team. (Freshmen will be picked up first at North Cache.) BUS DEPARTURE TIME WILL BE ANNOUNCED AS WE GET CLOSER.
Swimmers should have all of their gear ready to go as well as whatever they need to stay overnight at the hotel. This is a big meet with many teams attending so swimmers should leave the spectator seating for the spectators. The meet is at capacity and team seating assignment is made by lottery. Last year, the room the swimmers were in was a little chilly so plan accordingly (sweats/blanket/camp chair). Swimmers should bring their own snacks for both Friday and Saturday since the events on Saturday will last most of the day.
Information on lunch plans for Saturday will be announced.
Friday events will begin at 1:00. Friday will include events #1-8 and the estimated conclusion of Friday’s events is 5:30 p.m. The team will then travel together on the bus to the hotel where our team and coaches will have dinner together at the hotel. Saturday morning the meet will begin at 9:00 with events #9-22 and is estimated to be completed by 5:00 p.m.
The team will travel home on the bus unless prior arrangements are made with Coach Singleton.

The team bus will leave Sky View at about 10:50 on Friday. (Freshmen will be picked up at North Cache at approximately 10:30.) Swimmers should have all of their gear ready to go as well as whatever they need to stay overnight at the hotel. This is a big meet with many teams attending so swimmers should leave the spectator seating for the spectators. The meet is at capacity and team seating assignment is made by lottery. The Highland Invitational Swim Meet is this Friday-Saturday, Jan 20-21, at the Fairmont Aquatic Center in Salt Lake City (The pool address is: 1044 E. Sugarmont Dr. Salt Lake City, UT 84106). The email from Marcus had an attachment with places to park.
Our Friday warmup time is at 3:00 and the meet begins at 4:30. Events will go through the 50 freestyle on Friday.
Dinner will be provided for the team at the hotel following the events on Friday. Swimmers should pack enough snacks and drinks for two days and a camp chair if they would like one.
Saturday our warmup time is at 8:25 am with a meet start time of 9:30. We will eat breakfast at the hotel before leaving for the meet. The meet will end in the early afternoon. THE TEAM WILL BE STOPPING FOR FOOD ON THE WAY HOME. Please make sure your swimmer has $10-$15 for the food stop.
Marcus will be excusing everyone from the entire day of school on Friday. Students can still go to school if they wish or need too, however, the bus will not be going out to North Cache for student pickup. The bus will be leaving Sky View at 1:15. Please be at the Rec center with enough time to load the bus and get everyone situated.
The Highland Meet is an invitational and has a fee associated with it. This year the host team raised the entry price. Along with the hotel this year the total fee for attending this meet is $35. This fee is on Register My Athlete and must be paid ASAP.

BUS INFORMATION: Swimmers will ride the bus to and from the meet with the team. Bus will leave Sky View about 1:00 (freshmen will be picked up at North Cache at 12:40). Students will be school excused for classes missed. We expect to be back to Sky View about 7:00 pm.
Swimmers should bring their own chair, snacks, swim gear. THERE WILL BE NO MEALS PROVIDED AND THE TEAM WILL NOT STOP FOR DINNER ON THE WAY HOME.
This is a fun meet of only relays with all the Region 1 teams. No awards, no trophies, just lots of fun! The mixed relays will not be scored. (*Regular high school relay finish times will count toward 5A State Top 50 qualifying times.)Meet Begins: 3:00 pm

Swimmers attending this meet will need to pay $26 for their hotel fees and meet entry fee ($16 hotel cost per swimmer + $10 meet fee). This fee should be paid to the SV finance office by Friday.
Swimmers are also advised to bring a folding chair to use in the multi-purpose room where the swimmers will sit during the meet. This is a big meet with many teams attending so swimmers should leave the spectator seating for the spectators. The meet is at capacity and team seating assignment is made by lottery. The meet will be at the Sky View Pool and begin at 3:30 p.m. We will need 12 parents to help with timing at this meet. Please plan to arrive by 3:15 so you can be set and ready to help time.

TIMES
- The bus will be at North Cache at 11:00 to pick up the Freshmen. They will then take them to Sky View and get the other swimmers at 11:30. (If your child does not have time to eat lunch Friday from the lunch room at school--then send a sack lunch.
- Friday meet starts at 3:30 and is expected to end around 7:30 p.m. Events will go through the 50 free on Friday night.
- Saturday meet starts at 9:00 and expected to end about 3:30 p.m.
SWIMMERS SHOULD BRING
Some suggestions for swimmers to bring: SV swim suit, towels, warm ups, goggles, camp/lawn chair to sit in, shower supplies, something to do - (the kids will not be on deck - they are in a separate gym, last year this room was cold - make sure you have something warm to wear), snacks to eat during meet, overnight gear, pj's, hygiene supplies.
Swimmers should bring $10-$20 for dinner on the bus ride home.
FOOD FOR SWIMMERS
Dinner will be provided by the parents for the swimmers at their hotel at 8:00 (or when the meet ends)
The hotel will provide breakfast on Saturday morning.
Parents will provide a lunch on Saturday, after the 200 free relay
Swimmers should bring $10-$20 for dinner on the bus ride home.
Swimmers should bring snacks to eat during the meet.

In the South Davis Aquatic Center the pool seating is located upstairs and to the right when you enter the rec center
They usually have vendors that sell t-shirts, sweats and swim gear in the lobby for you to buy if you want.
If your swimmer will ride home from the meet on Saturday with you (Parents only!) instead of riding the bus, you must make sure to let the Coach know so they do not leave without your swimmer or spend time looking for them.
