Results from Highland Invite and Region 1 Championships

The results from the 2017 Highland Invitational and the 5A Region 1 Championships have been posted under the Results tab.

Girls Repeat as Region Champs! Boys Team Finishes a Close 2nd!

Congratulations to the SVHS Girls Swim team on their 3rd consecutive Region Championship.  They won the 5A Region 1 title yesterday in impressive fashion, taking first place (at least) in every single event!

Congratulations to our Boys Team--they swam great and finished with second place in the Region.

Region 1 Championships Meet Information

Pasta Dinner Info:
Our last pasta dinner for the entire team will be Friday, January 24th beginning at 6:00 p.m.   It will be at: 751 E 500 S in Smithfield.

Region 1 Championships Meet Info:
The team will be taking a bus to Region at Mountain Crest.  The bus will leave SV on Saturday morning at 6:50 am.  Please be on time.

Our warmup time is 7:30-8:05 and the meet begins at 9:30 a.m. 

The cost for spectators is $5 for Adults and $4 for Students/Senior Citizens.  Heat sheets will be sold for $2.  There will be a 45-minute break after the 50 free.  During the break the team will eat in the cafeteria.  Those who ordered a sandwich will get that for lunch.  If your swimmer does not want to order a sandwich, make sure they bring food with them.  Swimmers should also bring any snacks/drinks that they want.

After the meet is over we plan to have a team dinner together.  Finding a place for 50 kids to all sit together is difficult.  Our plan right now is to go to Pizza Pie Cafe after the meet and celebrate a great season!  SWIMMERS NEED TO BRING AT LEAST $8 TO PAY FOR THEIR FOOD AT PIZZA PIE CAFE.  The bus will deliver our team to the restaurant, but parents will need to plan to pick up their kids there when they are done.  If your swimmer chooses to leave with you after the meet, Coach will need a note or a text about that.

Mountain Crest Meet on Thursday

Sky View will take on Mountain Crest at Mountain Crest on Thursday, Jan 19.  Warmup will be at 3:00 and the meet will begin at 3:30. 

The team bus will pick up the freshman swimmers at North Cache at 1:40 and leave SV at 2:10.  There WILL be a team bus home from the meet this time.

Highland Invitational - 2017

The Highland Invitational Swim Meet is this Friday-Saturday, Jan 20-21, at the Fairmont Aquatic Center in Salt Lake City (The pool address is: 1044 E. Sugarmont Dr. Salt Lake City, UT 84106).  The email from Marcus had an attachment with places to park.

Our Friday warmup time is at 3:00 and the meet begins at 4:30.   Events will go through the 50 freestyle on Friday.

Dinner will be provided for the team at the hotel following the events on Friday.  Swimmers should pack enough snacks and drinks for two days and a camp chair if they would like one.

Saturday our warmup time is at 8:25 am with a meet start time of 9:30.  We will eat breakfast at the hotel before leaving for the meet.  The meet will end in the early afternoon.  THE TEAM WILL BE STOPPING FOR FOOD ON THE WAY HOME.  Please make sure your swimmer has $10-$15 for the food stop.

Marcus will be excusing everyone from the entire day of school on Friday.   Students can still go to school if they wish or need too, however, the bus will not be going out to North Cache for student pickup.  The bus will be leaving Sky View at 1:15.  Please be at the Rec center with enough time to load the bus and get everyone situated.  

The Highland Meet is an invitational and has a fee associated with it.  This year the host team raised the entry price.  Along with the hotel this year the total fee for attending this meet is $35.  This fee is on Register My Athlete and must be paid ASAP.

Senior Night at the SV / Weber Meet

Our last home meet is tomorrow, FRIDAY JANUARY 13th.  The meet will begin at 2:30 pm (instead of our regular 3:30 start).  ALL TIMERS SHOULD ARRIVE BY 2:15 SO WE CAN START THE MEET ON TIME.

We will honor our seniors during the break after the 50 freestyle races.  Parents are invited to walk out on deck with their swimmer as he/she is introduced.

Clearfield/Northridge Meet

The team bus will leave SV for Clearfield at 1:30 on Thursday (tomorrow).  Freshmen will be picked up and leave North Cache at 1:00.

The address of the pool is: 825 S State St Clearfield, UT  84015.  Warmup is at 3:00 with a start time of 3:30.  We will not be making any stops after the meet.

All-Valley Invite Results

The first All-Valley Invite was a Bobcat success!  First place for the girls team and first place for the boys team.  Combined scores = 1596.

Practice Time for Friday, January 6th

Due to the school closure again today, swim practice will be from 2:00-4:00.  The pasta party will still be tonight.

January 5th Meet POSTPONED

Due to the school closure today, the home meet against Weber has been canceled.  The district will not allow us to hold a meet when school has been canceled.  We are working on a makeup day for the meet next week. There is an OPTIONAL practice today from 3:00-5:00.

All-Valley Invite Meet on Saturday

Logan High School is hosting an All-Valley Invite meet on Saturday, January 7th.  Teams participating are: Sky View, Mountain Crest, Logan, and Ridgeline.

The meet will be held at the USU HPER Pool. 

WE WILL NOT BE TAKING A TEAM BUS TO THIS MEET.  SWIMMERS MUST BE AT THE USU POOL BY 8:00 AM, DRESSED AND READY TO WARM-UP.

The meet will begin at 9:00 and heat sheets will be available for $2.  There will be a 30 minute break after the 50 Free.  If the meet runs smoothly, we should be done by 1:00 p.m.  We will not be providing lunch so swimmers should bring their own snacks/food.  Swimmers also need to make plans for transportation home from the meet.
